I've tried Pepitas...didn't like it. Las Margaritas is ok, but I think it's gone a little downhill in the last couple years. Topanga is ok too..but not quite what I want. Andale's (I think that's the name...) was ok...but I was put off by the red and green tortilla chips.
Any thoughts about where to get good Mexican food?

Thu, February 22, 2007 - 8:43 AMLolita's South of the Border Cantina on 1326 Davie Street. I have never been there, but I have heard great things about it.
A friend also said Andales Mexican Restaurant on 3211 West Broadway was awesome. -

Re: can you recommend a Mexican restaurant?
Thu, February 22, 2007 - 6:33 PMLolita is fairly good, it is really busy in the weekend so expect to wait a while.
The prices are a bit high, ecpecially for cocktails and I don't recommend the house red wine.
Their fish tacos are really good, I woud say that it is mostly mexican fusion.
it's worth a try!

Mon, March 12, 2007 - 11:39 AMPepitas hasn't been great since they moved from their original Robson St. address (it was fantastic way back then!). Currently my favourite is Primo's, on W. 12th just west of Granville. The food is great, and added to the decor and atmosphere, you feel like you're actually in Mexico. -

Re: can you recommend a Mexican restaurant?
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 4:27 PMLa Casita on Cordova (in Gastown - I don't recall the cross street at the moment) is awesome and was reccomended to me by several people. It is by far my favorite place so far, but I haven't tried some of the suggestions below yet!
